Prepare your cameras for Kaunas street art
Kaunas in Lithuania is far from ordinary, and there’s so much to see that you won’t read about it ordinary city guides. While museums, restaurants, famous monuments and the old town are usual things to see while traveling, it’s the unexpected spots that surprise us the most. Walking around the city, you‘ll notice pieces of Kaunas street art. Artists recently started creating some amazing street art in Kaunas and now the city gets more and more colorful. Drawings appear on the corners of streets you pass and each of them tells you a different story.
Kaunas Street Art
Now Kaunas street art is part of city design, and reflects Kaunas’ identity. Recently Kaunas tourist information center released a brand new tool to discover street art. Called wallographer’s notes; this digital map includes locations and details on Kaunas’ graffiti street art.

The Wise Old Man

The 440 m2 drawing is one of the most recognized Kaunas symbols. The building, formerly a footwear factory, now features a huge man, looking at you near Kaunas castle, it‘s impossible to miss.

The drawing was created by the most well–known Lithuanian street artist in the world, Ernest Zacharevic.

Another piece of art is this drawing that was created by a seven years old girl, and then transferred onto the 14 meters high wall.

This old and invisible wooden house gained some colors to get people attention. For the ones staying at Park Inn by Radisson Kaunas, the colorful house is just a 2 minute walk away.
The Pink Elephant

This drawing was inspired by a love note on the wall. The pink elephant looks impressive on Instagram and is one of the most snapped artworks.

It’s the open gallery in the yard, created by an artist who noticed that neighbors were feeling alienated. He decided to meet his neighbors and share their stories by transferring photographs on the walls. Consequently, the exhibition is still growing.
