Our #innsider’s guide to ‘winter’ getaways
Even though end of year getaways aren’t as bragged about as the ‘summer holidays’ they are still fun and a great time to unwind. After all, there’s the whole world to explore! So whether you want to wrap up warm and venture out into snowy landscapes, or extend your summer in a hot country – there’s a location that is right for you!
Forget hibernating and hit the slopes in Rosa Khutor
Winter doesn’t have to mean grey and miserable, and winter sports breaks don’t have to be complicated. Pack the skis and head to the Western Caucasus for a ski and spa break. Ski right out of our Park Inn by Radisson Rosa Khutor onto the slopes ( yes, we are that close to the slopes!) or walk into the adjoining spa for a spot of relaxation.
Similarly, a spot of apres-ski never goes amiss, and for further exploring, head out into Sochi!
Stay warm and dry in Dubai
Dubai is a great getaway if you want to avoid the rain, snow and cold! Apart from getting a tan, there’s so much to do. The Park Inn by Radisson Dubai Motor City is literally next to a racetrack, so without even leaving your hotel room you’ll be able to see some adrenaline-packed action. Speaking of adrenaline, you can also skydive, drive over sand-dunes in the desert, go snorkeling and even ski!
But there’s also the chance to relax and have some ‘me’ time. there are plenty of spas, beautiful gardens, lounge on the beach or chill out poolside in our hotel. Not to mention one of the best shopping centers in the world – Dubai Global Village.
Warm up in Nice
Think winter and you tend to think of wrapping up warm and heading out to a snowy cityscape. Leave that thought behind and head to Nice in the south of France. Whilst it might not be tropical in the deep midwinter, highs of 16⁰C can be reached in November/December, with up to 8 hours of sunshine. Yes, SUNSHINE. What’s more is flights are usually less expensive and you can explore this millionaire’s playground with fewer people than in the peak months of summer. Our Park Inn by Radisson Nice Airport hotel is conveniently next to the airport for flying visits! Experience the Old Town, new town, wide beach and even head to Monaco.
Stay cool in Copenhagen
Copenhagen is a brilliant city all year round. With culture, world-class food and shopping at every turn, there is something for everyone, but in winter there is even more going on. There are many festive markets and delicious ‘glugg’ to warm you in November and December. Also during winter, Copenhagen puts on loads of activities for kids (Lego architecture anyone?). For bigger kids, there is plenty of bars, restaurants, beautiful buildings and museums to take in. Warm up at our Park Inn by Radisson Copenhagen Airport hotel.
Spend quality time in Quito
Though not technically their ‘summer’ in November/December, Ecuador still reaches balmy temperatures and it’s considered the best time to explore Quito, the mountains and even the Galapagos! Yes, the Quito airport is 1 of 2 airports that flies to the Galapagos islands. But before you fly off, experience Quito itself – it’s a hidden gem full of fun. Firstly, you can go to the actual equator line, climb a mountain, pet alpacas, enjoy a rich night life and see some beautiful, colorful streets. The Park Inn by Radisson Quito is well-located for all your Quito activities.
Immerse yourself in Budapest
If summer is for lying on a beach, winter is for exploring and soaking up a bit of culture. Budapest is a vibrant city full of old charms and new sophistication. Check out the world famous opera house – an architect’s dream, or go the whole hog and go to see one of its incredible operas. If food is more your thing, Budapest has plenty of restaurants and fashionable pubs to take your fancy. And if the cold gets too much, take a dip in one of the city’s thermal baths. Our Park Inn by Radisson Budapest hotel is close to the city center and has over 130 rooms with high speed internet.
