#Innsider’s guide to romantic getaways

Valentine’s Day is the most romantic holiday of the year and a chance to show your loved one how much they mean to you. Forget about Venice and Rome, and check out our romantic getaways for a Valentine’s trip with a difference.

Get your rocks off in Birmingham

If you are thinking of popping the question then you’ll need a ring, so where better to head than Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter? Although Birmingham might not be associated with romance, this area is said to create 40% of all the jewellery produced in the UK. If asking the question and picking a sparkler isn’t enough to get temperatures rising, you can always go for a world-famous Birmingham Balti, with plenty of chilli (which is said to be a natural aphrodisiac). Whilst visiting, stay at our nearby Park Inn by Radisson Birmingham Walsall hotel.

Make a move in Amsterdam

Whisk your other half away to Amsterdam for beautiful scenery, a laid back culture and great food and drink. Even if tulips aren’t in season, head to the Bloemenmarkt to pick up a bouquet of seasonal flowers for your other half (they’ll love it and you might even save a Euro or two on what you’d usually spend at home). If that isn’t enough, give the usual Amsterdam bike tour a cupid’s touch by hiring a tandem to make sure you get things off on the right foot and see if you really are on the same wavelength! Stay at our Park Inn by Radisson Schiphol Airport hotel.

Looking for love?

Those looking for love could do worse than heading to Manchester or Lille, which (according to research) have the most single people in the UK and France respectively. Whilst visiting, stay at our Park Inn by Radisson Manchester City Centre or Park Inn by Radisson Lille.
