Who needs a far-flung vacation when you have the whole of the United Kingdom on your doorstep? From art galleries to legendary football pitches to amazing architecture, Britain has loads of places to plan your ultimate staycation.

Buzzing Belfast

If your starting point is Northern Island, know that the Park Inn by Radisson Belfast is central to the main attractions that Belfast has to offer. The first being, the amazing Titanic Museum, at only 1.8 miles/10 mins by car. The Titanic Belfast extends over nine interactive galleries, and features artifacts, dark rides, reconstructions and interactive features.

Next on your journey should be the Grand Opera House, and not only because you can watch Titanic the Musical, but a whole host of great shows, and see the restoration of the beautiful 1895 auditorium. The GOH is only 4 mins by foot from our hotel too.

For an interactive learning experience for the whole family, check out the W5. Multiple floors of science, technology and environmental learning, featuring VR, AR and robots! All this is just 1.3 miles / 6 mins by car, which is perfect when your kids are tuckered out and ready for a nap.

Explore the Highlands in Aberdeen

Next up on your staycation, the wonderful Scottish city of Aberdeen, featuring picturesque scenery, amusing museums and the Park Inn by Radisson Aberdeen.
The first museum you must see if you’re a fan of the macabre is the Tolbooth Museum – one of the oldest buildings and best-preserved 17th century jails in Scotland! Discover the cold hallways, winding stairs, heavy doors, barred windows and a real guillotine. Explore the scary yet historical museum, only .7 miles / 14 mins on foot or 6 mins by car from the Park Inn by Radisson Aberdeen.

Next to the jail is the Aberdeen Maritime Museum, an award-winning museum exploring Aberdeen’s relationship with the sea. If you love photography, it’s also the best place to go to see the harbor from above, as well as some historical maritime structures and diving suits.

If science is more your style, then check out the Aberdeen Science Centre; just 7 mins by car. For both kids and big kids, the centre is full of interactive science experiments and robotics. Each season has a new theme too, so you’re in for a wealth of scientific surprises.
