First held in 2011, the Harley Days Festival is now one of the biggest and best Harley Davidson enthusiast events in the world. Come to the Venice of the North this August to see some rubber burn!

Now in its fourth year, the Harley Days Festival should be the star attraction in the calendar of anyone who’s up for a great bike show this August. With over 3,000 riders expected this year and an atmosphere that caters for all the family, take a look at this rundown of the very best bike-related fun for every petrolhead travelling to St. Petersburg this summer.

Harley Days Motorcade

The highlight of the Festival will undoubtedly be the Motorcade. At 1pm on Saturday 9th August, over 1,000 riders from all over the world will assemble in the world famous Palace Square, ready to start the 1.5 kilometre procession. Spectators will line the Central Embankments and the route along Nevsky Prospect, a stone’s throw away from Park Inn by Radisson Nevsky, St. Petersburg, hoping to catch a glimpse of the best customised bike. If you’re a rider and think your own specially adapted vehicle is worthy of praise, you could even enter the procession yourself and get a chance to win a prize for the best homegrown Harley.

Motorbike Tours

If you’re new to St Petersburg, you’ll have the opportunity to join specially organised tours showcasing the highlights of the local region. The first tour will take place in Kronstadt, the home of the Baltic Fleet and seat of the Russian Admiralty. This beautiful island 30 kilometres from the city centre is home to many museums detailing Russia’s seafaring history. It’s also a place of pilgrimage for Orthodox Christians, who come here to remember Saint John of Kronstadt who served as a priest on the island nearly 200 years ago. Another tour will visit the royal town of Peterhof, giving tourists the chance to enjoy the summer sunshine while wandering past the gilded statues and bubbling golden fountains of the Peterhof Palace and its famous gardens, known together as the Russian Versailles. A third tour will take bikers to the World Park, a shopping paradise on the outskirts of the city. If you’re more interested in what’s inside the bikes, check out the Harley Davidson shop on Arsenalnaya Street or drop by the stalls in Ostrovskaya Square.

Ostrovskaya Square

Whichever day you decide to come to the Harley Days Festival, you’ll find something to do in Ostrovskaya Square. The square will be the nerve centre of the Festival, hosting everything from the registration tent to stages for the musical entertainment. There’ll also be a daily fair, where you can find tasty things to eat and stalls selling every kind of bike-related merchandise imaginable, from clothing to souvenirs. Across the square you’ll see the Motordrome, where you can marvel at the skill and daring of stunt riders and view the bikes entered into the Festival’s motorbike competitions. After all that looking without touching, you’ll definitely have earned the right to try riding your very own hog – test drives of the latest Harley Davidson models will be taking place from 10am to 7pm every day, starting at Ostrovskaya Square.
