Our #innsider’s guide to winter wonderlands

Even though the nights get longer and the weather colder, we think winter is one of the best times for a bit of exploring. So wrap up warm and take a look at some of our favourite spots to visit in the cooler months:

Forget hibernating and hit the slopes in Rosa Khutor

Winter doesn’t have to mean grey and miserable, and winter sports breaks don’t have to be complicated. Pack the skis and head to the Western Caucasus for a ski and spa break. Ski right out of our Park Inn by Radisson Rosa Khutor onto the slopes or walk into the adjoining spa for a spot of relaxation. Easy peasy!

Warm up in Nice

Think winter and you tend to think of wrapping up warm and heading out to a snowy cityscape. Leave that thought behind and head to Nice in the south of France. Whilst it might not be tropical in the deep midwinter, highs of 13⁰C can be reached in January, with up to 8 hours of sunshine. Yes, SUNSHINE. What’s more is flights are usually less expensive and you can explore this millionaire’s playground with fewer people than in the peak months of summer. Our Park Inn by Radisson Nice Airport hotel is conveniently next to the airport for flying visits!

Immerse yourself in Budapest

If summer is for lying on a beach, winter is for exploring and soaking up a bit of culture. Budapest is a vibrant city full of old charms and new sophistication. Check out the world famous opera house – an architect’s dream, or go the whole hog and go to see one of its incredible operas. If food is more your thing, Budapest has plenty of restaurants and fashionable pubs to take your fancy. And if the cold gets too much, take a dip in one of the city’s thermal baths. Our Park Inn by Radisson Budapest hotel is close to the city centre and has over 130 rooms with high speed internet.

Soak up the beauty of Prague

With its picture book architecture, Prague is at its best in Winter and once the Christmas markets are gone, the next busy period is around Valentine’s Day, when couples descend to soak up the romantic feel of the city. For those not seeking the glitz of Christmas or schmaltz of Valentine’s, Prague is still worth a visit. Snowy pictures will be the toast of your Instagram feed and when you are done exploring, the coffee and cakes of Prague’s café scene will taste all the more sweet when you are sheltering from the cold. For a bit of relaxation, head to our Park Inn by Radisson Prague hotel.

Experience Wondercool Copenhagen

Copenhagen is a brilliant city all year round. With culture, world-class food and shopping at every turn, there is something for everyone, but in winter there is even more going on. After the festive markets and ‘glugg’ of November and December, February is a hive of activity. The Danish have their ‘winter break’ in February, which means Copenhagen puts on loads of activities for kids (Lego architecture anyone?). For bigger kids, the annual Wondercool festival brings music, art and culture to the city. Warm up at our Park Inn by Radisson Copenhagen Airport hotel.
